• Is there a way that i can either change the port as to which MbC runs on or not use the cwmservice32 and have my WAMP server load all the neccisary files? what i am wanting to accomplish is to have this on my personal local webserver and i will make a secure login to the dir so that my family can login and use it by going to my site and clicking on movies, login and boom they are looking at the MbC. since the service cwmservice32 is using port 80 the apache service wont start unless i change its port, and that would null my webserver. or can you build a version that doesn't have a dedicated webserver in it, i think that would be great and it would open alot more doors for you as far as options on how to deploy this.
  • The port can be changed in config/craigworks.properties.
  • ok so i have been able to change the port but i still cannot access from external/off network computers, i have changed to port 90 and setup port forwarding to my webserver but still nogo any ideas?

here is how i have my webserver built (also is my HT pc)
    Win 7 HP (64)
    xampp webserver package
    Apache is on port 80
    Tomcat is on port 8080
    MbC is on port 90

    Linksys WRT120N
    Port forwarding
    Service - RemotePort - HostPort - HostIP
    HTTP - 80 - 80 - 192.168.0.106
    MbC - 90 - 90 - 192.168.0.106
    TomCat - 8080 - 8080 - 192.168.0.106

    MbC is located @ c:\craigworks\movies\
Xampp (including Apache & Tomcat is located @ c:\xampp\

I tried creating an alias pointing to the MbC dir but no go

    I can access the following
    http://localhost - My Site
    http://localhost:8080/sample - Tomcat
http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx - My Site via externalIP
    http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:8080/sample - Tomcat via externalIP
    i cannot access
    http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:90/craigworks/movies
    http://localhost:90/craigworks/movies
    Any ideas?
  • This should work:

http://localhost:90/CraigWorks/movies (NOTE: capital 'C' and 'W' are required).

If it doesn't then either MbC is not running on port 90 or some other app is.

If port forwarding is setup correctly, then xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:90 should work if firewall allows it. If not, look into your firewall software. If you are using Windows firewall and running as a service then create an InBound Rule to allow c:\craigworks\movies\bin\cwmservice32.exe to receive request.
  • i figured out what it was ....

My modem has a nat firewall built in, and i didnt realize it. so i have to forward the ports from my modem to my router... then from my router to the server.... GHEY!!!! why cant the ISP just send out a basic modem with no extras ....

so for anyone else that has this issue here is how i set it up.
    modem ip = 192.168.1.1
router ip = 192.168.1.2 external ip gotten from modem dynamically / 192.168.0.1 internal ip you can set this to what ever you want as long as the 3rd octect is not a 1

forward all ports you need to the 1.2 address in the modem

then login to the router and make sure that the internal IP is set to 192.168.0.1 and is assigning ip addresses like 192.168.0.x
then port forward to your servers ip as normal

    But thanks for the help.
  • Thanks, for the post. Good info.
  • Thanks, i would post the link but there is no security set up on the MbC yet so once you put a login auth in i would feel much much better about it LOL.

with the login auth dont forget to link the login with the "My Display" or have a display that doesnt have any access to the settings, add, or maint. sections it would be great if this could make it into the next vesion.
