More Relaxed Filters for Lists
  • Instead of trying to explain this one I will just give you an example.

I have a custom list labeled as "TV Series".
In this list I would like to create 2 filters.

Filter 1. DVD File | contains | TV Series
    Filter 2. Blu-ray File | contains | TV Series

The idea would be to allow any file that has "TV Series" in the path to be added to this list.
Currently if both filters are set nothing is found because no titles have both a DVD and a Blu-ray file path.
In some cases both filters may need to be in use, in this case some kind of option is needed to allow filter 2 to take effect only if a title does not match filter 1.
  • this one is very easy. just set the filters using "Running Time" with "<=" operator and value of "60".

I have about 4TB of TV Series and they all work using this filter.
  • Thanks for the suggestion carcdm.
I would have to increase the run time value some as I have some that are actually over an hour, I'd have to fix the meta data for some movies as well, it seems some have have incorrect run time values stored.
  • What the custom list filtering needs is support for boolean operator OR between expressions and parentheses to control precedence. This feature is already in my backlog. I hope to get to it soon.
  • this does nothing for me when it throws in the tons of shorts i have in my collection. When can i query text contains "series" or something? definitely need more freedom in the filters. a television release field would be golden. Or if you include the tvdb check it could label as television release date vs the current "movie release date" these are getting. that way a filter could be made that was definite.
